A final schedule has been put together for this year’s BRCA tour. You will find the registration form on the last page of this article. Pete and Nancy have done a wonderful job of planning three great days of tours. At this point in time the costs for some of the tours are subject to change as increases are being indicated. Any additional charge will be collected at the meet and greet gathering on Tuesday night. We are anticipating a minimal increase. By booking as a group we will receive a discount otherwise we would just have you pay at the door. Tuesday June 7 at 7:00pm we will host a meet and greet get together at Double Tree Hospitality Room. Any last minute updates will be shared as well as driving information.
The Double Tree Hotel in Dearborn, Michigan will be the host hotel for this year’s tour. It is located at 5801 Southfield Expressway in Dearborn close to our scheduled tours. The room rates are $129.00 a night plus taxes make sure you mention the Buick Rod and Custom Association to receive that rate. You can take a virtual tour online by keying in the following: http://www.dropbox.com/s/vjh4zepeqc5xlt/DoubleTreee%20Detroit-Dearborn%20Virtual%20Tour.mp4?dl=0

Wednesday June 8
We will depart the host hotel at 8:30 am and head for the Henry Ford Museum. We will be spending the entire day at the HFM with a lunch break scheduled at 11:30am at Plum Market. There is an incredible amount of things to see at the HFM and one day may not be enough time for everyone! The museum is a history of American innovation.
Many of the buildings and rooms where great moments in innovation took place have be moved and recreated at the museum the room where Thomas Edison invented the light bulb for example. You can step into time and with a little imagination recreate the moment when that first light bulb glowed. After a full day of exploring the Henry Ford Museum we will head for Buddy’s Pizzeria for dinner at 5:30.
Thursday June 9 we will head out at 8:30am and head for the Ford Rouge Factory. This is an overhead walking tour of the assembly plant where Ford builds its number one selling Truck the F150. The walk is 1/3 mile trek with a bird’s eye view of the assembly line where a new truck is built every minute when the line is up to full speed.
After the tour at 11:30 AM we will have lunch at the Ford Garage which is a museum in its self.
After lunch the fun continues at the Greenfield Village, which is part of the Henry Ford Museum. The goal of the museum was to recreate what life was like during the early days of the United States of America. Filled with historic structures, activities, and even the work of actors and employees who populate 240 acres that make up the Village the goal is accomplished. You will see reproductions and a bit of the real thing, also. The Wright Brother’s store from Dayton, Ohio is real. Every part of Greenfield Village takes you back in time, from Model T’s, to steam engines which you can ride. Dinner will be at the Eagle Tavern at 6:00.
Friday June 10 finds us leaving the hotel at 8:15am and heading for G.R. Auto G allery the first of two private collections Pete has managed to get us in. After lunch starting at 12:30 at New York Deli Restaurant we will arrive at the second private collection Stahls Automotive Foundation.
The banquet will be held at 6:00pm at the hotel. Make sure you mark which plate you want for dinner!
